Welcome,

My name is Jeanne Rintelmann, I am a pediatric research lab coordinator by trade. I discovered kiln-formed fused glass when I was struggling to overcome brain fog, a side effect of chemo treatment. When the brain is forced to do somethings that is totally outside of it’s comfort zone it can ignite the neurons, clearing the fog and allowing you to discover new talents and interests. Kiln-formed glass became a fastinating and forever changing new passion for me.

Kiln-formed art glass involves fusing glass of a variety of shapes, using multiple layers, in a computer-controlled glass kiln. Fired at temperatures up to 1700 degrees F. Each art piece is fired to a temperature in excess of 12 hours. Depending on the complexity of the piece, it can be fired 5-6 times before completion.

I am enthralled with the way glass plays with the light, how it infuses, transmits, and interacts in so many ways. The endless possibilities and challanges of this form of art keeps me feeling like a curious child. Every time I open the kiln it feels like Christmas.

I hope my art makes you smile and entices you to explore your creative side.
